Access, Services and Programs

These policies cover policies on loan periods, borrowing privileges, library programs and more.

Open Access (use by other libraries' patrons)

The Board of Trustees may authorize the use of the Library by persons not residents of the City or County in any one or more of the following ways:

       1.  Lendng.  By lending the books or other materials of the     Library to nonresidents on the same terms and conditions as to residents of Morning Sun or Louisa county. 

       2.  Depository.  By establishing depositories of Library books or other materials to be loaned to nonresidents.

   Access Plus (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan is open to any person with a Mellinger Memorial Library Card, with special consideration to residents of Morning Sun, Iowa, and then Louisa county.  The fee for interlibrary loan is one dollar ($2.50) per book or item requested.  Items must be returned with ample time to return them to the lending library by the indicated due date (usually one month).  Any overdue or replacement fees incurred will be the responsibility of the lending patron.

Equipment Use

General use of the Library is open to any person with special consideration to residents of Morning Sun, Iowa, and then Louisa county.  A library card is not required.  Equipment available for use includes a fax,  a printer, photocopier, and a microfiche reader.
